Love Your Magic is dedicated to uplifting, centering, and supporting the positive identity development of Black and Brown girls. We empower our girls to use their voice in a world that too often demands their silence and to confidently navigate and disrupt systems that are not designed in their image. Through mentorship, programming, and events, volunteers help us create sacred spaces where Black and Brown girls are affirmed, celebrated, and equipped to lead with unshakeable confidence.

As a volunteer, you'll support work that nurtures self-advocacy, self-love, self-care, community and chosen kinship, and leadership in our girls. We grow with the girls we serve from elementary school through college, building enduring relationships and chosen kinship that sustain them through every stage of their journey. FAQs

  • Once you complete the volunteer form, we'll add you to our volunteer communications and reach out when opportunities arise that match your interests and availability.

  • All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer training session before beginning any volunteer activities. This training will cover our mission, values, approach to working with Black and Brown girls, and specific guidelines for volunteer roles.

  • Any volunteer who will be alone with children without the presence of our staff is required to complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check before beginning volunteer activities. This is a standard safeguarding practice to ensure the safety of the girls we serve.

  • Volunteer opportunities vary based on availability and interests. Some roles require a few hours a month for specific events, while others involve more regular engagement. We'll work with volunteers to find the best fit for their schedule.

  • All volunteers will receive a Love Your Magic t-shirt. We invite you to wear the t-shirt with black pants when volunteering. We'll provide any additional guidance based on the specific activity.

  • While we can't guarantee employment, many of our staff members began as volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to learn about our organization and demonstrate your commitment to our mission.
